Double Rainbow, Wheat Field, Tornadic Supercell

After filming the Dodge City tornadoes of May 24, 2016, chase partner Shane Kirk and I needed to return to Kansas City that evening. Our eastward advancement toward KC was hindered by the fact that a tornado outbreak was still in progress. Ironically we were obliged to use our storm chasing skills to steer clear of tornadoes. Safe passage home required a broad end-around move to avoid driving into one. On the backside of the storm we happened upon this golden tableau complete with a double rainbow. I titled it The Veil because this pretty scene obscures the fact that a tornado is in progress deeper within the storm. Order print above and enjoy my Dodge City tornado movie below.
